Finding Breath

Welcome to my blog about barefoot running.

I fell in love with barefooting within the first few steps. It keeps me connected with the world and the run instead of thinking about EVERYTHING else going on in my life. It has been an amazing experience and I continue to learn many things about myself as I progress.
Please follow me in this journey..

Relax, find your breathe, and just run.

New Trans* Study—Seeking Participants for Therapy Study:

Participation in this study consists of taking part in online surveys
that ask questions about identity (for example, gender labels), how therapy is going, and how you have been feeling lately. Participation in this study also involves filling out a demographic questionnaire. To qualify for the study, participants must be age 18 or over, identify as trans*, transgender, or have gone through a gender transition. In addition, participants must plan to start therapy within two months of enrolling in the study and
plan to continue being in therapy for at least 16 weeks. Interested participants who do not meet these criteria (who are already involved in therapy, for example) are not eligible to participate.

This study has been approved by the University of Louisville IRB.
Trans* or transgender participants will be asked to jointly participate in this study with their therapists. This process will be explained in detail to all who are interested in participating. All interested participants will be given a chance to ask questions about the study, are not obligated to participate in the study, and can discontinue participation at any point in the study with no penalty or loss of benefits to which they are entitled.

All study participants and their therapists will be provided with monetary compensation for their time involved in study participation.

If you are interested in being a part of this study, or if you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Budge
at stephanie.budge@louisville.edu or by phone at (502) 852-0627.

I used to :( God I miss running around there.  Just when the sunsets and the bats get a little wild.  Feels like you’re away from everything and at the same right in the middle of the city.

I live in Louisville now.  Very runner friendly but I sure do miss TX weather.

It works better than the one on runnersworld.com and autosyncs with your local weather.  You can put in some extra specs on the top right if you think they’re necessary.

Tough Mudder

Color Run

I’m slowly getting back into it.  Grad school + working full time has really taken a toll on me.  I guess this is why I chose some silly/fun runs this year.  See you on the trails :)

To run barefoot is such an amazing feeling. Making contact with the ground and feeling every crack and lump, feeling totally connected to the earth, to the tarmac and to my own body. I’m so thankful for my thick soled hobbit feet.

Got accepted to grad school :)  Sorry I’ve been awol.  I also noticed that my account got hacked…cool bro tumblr.  Hope all are doing well.

It’s been freezing here in Louisville and I’ve been very sick.  Not much time for working out lately.  I think once the weather calms down and stops freaking everybody out with tornadoes and blizzards and shit I’ll start running outside again.

For now.. p90x!
